“Prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in market.”

Collegiate DECA competitive events connect college to careers by reinforcing 21st Century Skills: Financial, Economic, Business & Entrepreneurial Literacy; Creativity & Innovations; Critical Thinking & Problem Solving; Communication & Collaboration; and Leadership & Responsibility.

Competitive events are offered in six (6) different academic or career areas: Business Management & Administration; Communications & Technology; Entrepreneurship; Finance & Accounting; Hospitality & Tourism; and Marketing & Sales. Multiple students/teams from the same college or university campus are eligible to compete in the 20-plus competitive events that represent these six (6) areas.

Of the 32 students on Team Belmont:
First Place in the Entrepreneurship Challenge: Rachel Hawk and Chelsea Gettelfinger
Sports and Entertainment Marketing, 3rd Place: Rachel Hawk and Becca Wagner
5 Belmont Teams were Entrepreneurship Challenge Finalists (out of 52 total teams)
2 Belmont teams placed in the top 10 in the Entrepreneurship Challenge 
4 Belmont students and 2 Belmont teams placed in the top 10 of their individual competition

2016 International Collegiate DECA Competition

Of the 22 students on Team Belmont:
9 placed in the top 10 in a variety of business-related events
8 were finalists in their category
6 Belmont teams were finalists in the Entrepreneurship Challenge event (63 teams, in total, competed in the preliminaries)
2 Belmont teams placed in the top 10 in the Entrepreneurship Challenge
