One in every nine people on our planet go to bed hungry every night (FAQ, 2015). While nearly half of people living in extreme poverty are 18 years or younger (UNICEF, 2015) , nearly half of childhood deaths under the age of 5 are caused by under nutrition (The Lancet, 2013). Stop Hunger Now’s mission is to end hunger across the globe. Established in 1988, Stop Hunger Now coordinates the distribution of food and other life-changing aid to crisis-burdened areas around the world. The organization has packaged and distributed more than 200,000,000 meals to 71 countries. Belmont Social Entrepreneurship Graduate Eric Taft ‘12 is the Tennessee representative and will be discussing the Stop Hunger Now Meal Packaging Program and various ways students can get involved to help achieve the mission of this innovative and impactful organization.
